The UNSW Raiders have begun planning for the upcoming year! The coaches had a meeting during the week to pin down dates for preseason with the following dates being announced. The club will be hosting two Football Combines where existing players and new recruits are put through tests to showcase their athletic ability. The 2017 Season is nearly upon us! Week 1 commencing on Saturday 2nd September 2017 and finds all our 3 UNSW Raiders teams playing at home against the Northwestern American Football Club. This Saturday saw a HUGE weekend of football at the UNSW David Phillips Sports fields as we hosted our HOMECOMING for 2015. We had BBQ, drinks and merchandise on sale throughout the day and our brand new scoreboard was installed and operational for this game! This weekend saw the UNSW Raiders Women play their 2nd game of the season as they kicked off Round 3 of the GNSW Womens league at 10am against UTS at Forestville Oval. The team played hard and came up with a tight victory defeating the Gators 6 -2. Unfortunately, it was a different story for the UNSW Men who played their 3rd game of the season at 3pm against the North
SEASON OPENER FOR THE WOMEN: The UNSW Raiders Women opened their season on Friday night defeating the Newcastle Cobras 36-12 ROUND 2 FOR THE MEN: The UNSW Men had their Round 2 clash at Craik Park, Austral against the West Sydney Pirates. Unfortunately they didn’t get the win going down 50-9 but was a great learning experience for the rookies.
